ONE of Ullapool’s main hotels has been put on the market by a London-based private investment and property company.
Property agent Colliers International is seeking offers of around £900,000 plus value-added tax (VAT) for the feuhold of the 83-bedroom Caledonian Hotel. It declared the sale represented an “exciting opportunity for experienced hotel operators”.

Colliers said the Caledonian Hotel is “likely to be the oldest in Ullapool”, a town long known as the gateway to the Outer Hebrides and now receiving a boost from the North Coast 500 route.
It noted the hotel has its origins in the 19th century, with significant extension in the period since.
The Caledonian Hotel occupies a sizeable corner site, with views southward over Ullapool and the ferry terminal and towards Loch Broom.

Alistair Letham, a director in the UK hotels agency team at Colliers International, said: “The Caledonian Hotel has been an important hotel feature facility in Wester Ross and Ullapool for many, many years and continues to service the important leisure trade that visits Scotland’s beautiful north-west during a very long period of seasonal trading.
