WHISKY giant Edrington has grown sales and profits in the latest financial year helped by the strong performance of brands such as The Macallan in global markets.

The Glasgow-based company said it increased core revenues by nine per cent, to £680 million, in the year to March 31.

Edrington grew profits by 4% to £92m excluding one-offs.

Chief executive Scott McCroskie said Edrington had achieved encouraging results against a backdrop of significantly increased investment in support of its brands and production capacity.
