Drygate Brewing Co, the Glasgow-based microbrewery, bar and events space, has refreshed it product range and revamped its branding as it marks its fifth anniversary.

The business, a joint venture between Alloa-based Williams Bros and Tennent Caledonian set up in 2014, is located in Glasgow’s east end, directly next to Wellpark Brewery.

Bosses have revitalised the product range to be more in tune with the latest trends in the booming craft beer market, with the new offer combining its core and Studio collections to include five of Drygate’s most successful beers. These include Gladeye IPA (India Pale Ale), Bearface Lager and the flagship beer Seven Peaks

A an orange-infused, low-alcohol IPA will be added to the range later this year to meet growing market demand for lower strength products. It will have a strength of 0.5 per cent alcohol by volume.

Drygate said the range will be marketed under a new unified identity for the brand and venue, which features geometric designs and colours designed to “celebrate the scientific, precise and human side of brewing”.

Managing director Matt Corden said: “We feel that to continue to compete in today’s crowded market, it is crucial that our range is recognisable and coherent. We’ve always had exciting and bold branding, but it was important to us that our range felt like a family as we move forward. Five years of business felt like the perfect time to take a step back and develop a new look that represents Drygate as it stands today.”

In other changes, the venue’s bar and kitchen has been rebranded Drygate Brasserie. Operations manager Neil Park said the new name is a “nod to the traditional French brasserie”, with dishes such as steak frites and mussels and served with beer brewed on the premises.

Drygate noted that it will continue to champion creativity and collaboration by working with artists and others on small batch beers.
