LAW firm Pinsent Masons grew turnover in Scotland by seven per cent in the year to April 30, to £77 million from £71.6m in the preceding period.

The firm said it won mandates from global clients in connection with complex and valuable corporate deals in Scotland and also advised Scottish-based businesses with international operations. Pinsent Masons employs 560 partners and staff in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

The chair of the firm’s business in Scotland and Northern Ireland, Richard Masters, said Pinsent Masons had set down a marker for growth in 2020 and beyond by committing to take up significant office space in Edinburgh’s Exchange District.

Pinsent Masons grew global turnover by 7% in the latest financial year, to £482m. It did not disclose details of profits.
