TARAK Ramzan, chief executive of fashion retailer Quiz, received remuneration of £217,000 in the year to March, including a basic salary of £180,000, the company’s latest annual report shows.

He received £163,000 of remuneration for the prior accounting period, which the company noted related to a shorter period, from its July 2017 flotation to March 31, 2018.

Shares in Quiz surged to a high of 201.2p in July 2018, around a year after its stock market flotation. But the price has fallen steeply since October amid tough conditions on the high street. The firm’s franchise operation was also caught out in the collapse of House of Fraser. Shares were worth 14.5p at market close last night.

Finance boss Gerard Sweeney received remuneration of £172,000, including a salary of £130,000, for the year to March. He received total remuneration of £136,000 for the July 2017 to March 2018 period.  

Chief commercial officer Sheraz Ramzan received remuneration of £152,000 for the year to March, including a £130,000 salary. He received total remuneration of £116,000.for the July 2017 to March 2018 period.

Last week Quiz announced that it has revamped its share options for nearly 90 staff to reflect the collapse in its share price in recent months.
