GOLDMINING firm Scotgold has appointed Ian Proctor, the Sky Betting and Gaming chief executive, as non-executive director.

Nat le Roux, chairman of Scotgold, said: “We are delighted Ian has accepted a position on our board."

He added: "His wealth of experience as a finance professional not only enhances the breadth of experience available to the board, but being Stirling, Scotland based, his proximity to the operations means that our executive accounting function can also benefit.”

The company said this week mining could begin in Argyll later this year after it received funding for equipment.
