A GLASGOW brewer has launched “Europe’s first reforestation beer”.

Drygate Brewing Company said sales of Scorched Earth will fund the planting of a 10,000-tree forest.

Scotched Earth is described by Drygate as an imperial stout aged in Islay whisky barrels, with a powerful strength of 11.5% ABV (alcohol by volume).

Drygate said all sales of the beer will be donated to social enterprise Offset.Earth, with every bottle sold resulting in the planting of 50 trees in Madagascar. It will ultimately result in a 10,000-tree Drygate Forest, which will be visible from space.
