A start-up that showcases the products of independent coffee roasters has opened an outlet in Aberdeen.

Poco established the coffee house on the grounds of Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University in partnership with the Aramark food services business. Its founders, Ross McLean and David Porteous, completed the Accelerator programme for aspiring entrepreneurs at RGU.

They have been working with 30 independent roasters to supply bags of coffee to subscribers.

Mr McLean said Poco is in talks about opening similar style pop-up shops within other organisations.
