TELECOMMUNICATIONS group Vodafone has unveiled a new partnership with The SSE Hydro in Glasgow which includes an on-site “super-suite”, available to customers and guests during live events.

Vodafone will also use the facility for branded experiences and to showcase the latest technologies such as 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The 14,300-capcity Hydro is Scotland’s largest entertainment venue hosting around 150 music, sporting and entertainment events every year.

Anne Sheehan, director of Vodafone Business said that the new partnership “reinforces our commitment to Glasgow”. She added: “We’re looking forward to working closely with The SSE Hydro to explore how 5G can enable the creation of new and compelling experiences for fans.”

Glasgow was one of the first cities where Vodafone launched its 5G network in 2019.

Ross Easton, head of commercial at the Scottish Event Campus, said: “We believe Vodafone’s latest technologies have the potential to greatly enhance our visitors’ enjoyment at The SSE Hydro and will help us to continue to deliver a fantastic experience for fans.”
