DIGNITY, one of the UK’s largest providers of funeral services, has signed a new £1.2 million water and waste contract with Business Stream, the largest operator in the Scottish non-domestic water market.

The two-year agreement will see Dignity, which owns over 850 funeral locations and operates 46 crematoria in the UK, consolidate all of its water and waste billing with Edinburgh-based Business Stream as part of its strategy to deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Dignity will also benefit from the water expert’s dedicated account management service and accurate meter reading performance.

The deal sees Business Stream win back the business having previously worked with Dignity in Scotland until 2017 when the English retail water market opened. Jo Dow, chief executive, said Business Stream would work with Dignity to identify efficiencies which will “deliver environmental benefits and a sustainable reduction in their water charges”.
