GLASGOW-based Smart Metering Systems has said it will resume non-essential field work from Monday, following moves by governments across the UK to ease some coronavirus lockdown measures.
The company said: “This remobilisation is expected to be implemented over a period of three months and will see the resumption of non-essential field-based activities, including the installation of smart meters”
Smart Metering Systems announced on March 24 that it had stopped all non-essential field work under plans to safeguard the welfare of staff and clients.
Boris Johnson announced the UK lockdown on March 23.
Smart Metering Systems said yesterday that the remobilisation will be continually reviewed and governed by a comprehensive Covid-19 coronavirus risk assessment developed in consultation with employees, contractors and customers and will adhere to Government guidelines.
Shares in the company closed up five per cent, 30p, at 630p.
