Glasgow’s McCrea Financial Services is continuing its expansion despite the wider economic difficulties brought about by the coronavirus outbreak.

The firm has appointed Veronica Thomas and Chris Bain as its newest independent financial advisors, taking its headcount to 26 staff with £260 million of funds under management. It follows the addition last month of Grant Sneddon, formerly of Policy Services/Virtue Money, to the advisory team.

Ms Thomas and Mr Bain have a combined 47 years of experience in financial services. Ms Thomas was previously an associate director at Portfolio and Pension Management Limited, while Mr Bain joins as former managing director at EIS Financial Services.

McCrea, the longest-serving sponsor of the Glasgow Warriors rugby team, offers a range of advice on mortgage, savings, tax, retirement and pensions planning. Set up in 1999, it now has a total of seven in-house IFAs.
