Home security start-up Boundary Technologies is preparing to launch its new system next month after raising £1.7 million so far this year.

The final £90,000 tranche of this year’s investment closed in June. The latest money was raised primarily from private individuals, as well as a major construction firm that has identified a strategic fit between its new home products and Boundary’s system.

The company will use the money to complete product testing, and to finance operations after the launch. Edinburgh-based Boundary is headed up by Robin Knox and Paul Walton, who previously ran fintech firm IPOS. Boundary has raised a total of £3.9m to date.
