Johnston Carmichael has unveiled a raft of promotions, with one partner and seven new directors on the up at the accountancy firm.

Edinburgh-based Barry Masson, who joined in 2014, becomes partner, having said by the firm to have been integral to the growth of its audit practice and financial reporting advisory.

Making the step up to director level are Michael McAllister, head of the payroll team in Glasgow, Allison Dalton and Martin Bannerman of the audit team in Inverness, Aberdeen-based tax adviser Gillian McColgan, and innovations taxes specialist Andrew McMillan in Dundee. Jane Mitchell, based in Inverurie, and Gavin Paterson in Edinburgh, both part of business advisory team, also become directors.
