A Glasgow restaurant has been selected as one of four UK businesses appearing on a Facebook video series highlighting the resiliency of small firms amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The latest season of the “Boost My Business” series hosted by Queer Eye fashion guru Tan France, which has already received more than 10 million views, follows efforts by west end Italian eatery Eusebi Deli to drive online sales with geo-targeted adverts on Facebook. Originally launched in June, the series has featured small businesses around the world and has more than 17 million followers.

Owner Giovanna Eusebi learned how to style and photograph her most popular dishes to create content for Facebook and its picture-sharing platform, Instagram, to reach new audiences during lockdown.

Ms Eusebi has given a “massive thanks” to the programme’s producers and the Netflix star for their assistance during “challenging times”.

“Boost My Business is a show that highlights businesses like ours and guides us on our way to achieving our goals,” she said. “We had the best time working with them and are so grateful to Tan for sharing his experience as a fellow small business owner.

“At our heart, Eusebi is a café and restaurant but in recent times we’ve had to focus on building our online presence and adapting our offering to comply with Covid restrictions. Facebook for Business and Tan’s help could not have come at a better time as we build our online Eusebi at Home offering and launch our Christmas gifting range.”

In October, Ms Eusebi secured an interim interdict confirming that the business operates as a “café”, which allowed it to remain open during what was then described as temporary “circuit breaker” restrictions across central Scotland. All venues have been closed to all but takeaway service since Glasgow and surrounding areas were put under level four coronavirus restrictions on November 20.
