Law firm Burges Salmon has appointed former Brodies partner Nigel Watson to its Edinburgh operation to lead its employee incentives team.

Burges Salmon said that, following its launch in Edinburgh in May 2019, the appointment of Mr Watson as a corporate partner "demonstrates the firm's ongoing commitment to building its growing reputation in Scotland and to delivering exceptional client service across the UK".

Prior to joining Burges Salmon, Mr Watson was based in Brodies' Edinburgh office, where he established and led its employee benefits practice.

He advises companies and owner-managed businesses on employee share ownership, tax-effective reward structures and remuneration design and execution, Burges Salmon noted.

The firm added that Mr Watson "has extensive experience in all aspects of the design, implementation and operation of equity incentive plans both domestic and overseas, as well as advising remuneration committees on management incentive issues".
