Accountancy group PwC has named eight new directors across its Scottish operations, which include offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
The annual promotions span the assurance, tax and advisory practices, with the firm noting that women account for more than half of the new roles. Between them, the new directors have more than 60 years’ experience at PwC.
In the assurance practice, Morbeen Ahmed and Kirsty Boyle become directors focusing on auditing asset and wealth management clients, while in tax, Emma Sutherland and Neil Muir have been promoted. Will Barrie becomes a transaction services director in the firm’s deals practice, where he joins recently-recruited director Nick McLaren as PwC continues to invest in what is expected to become a key area during the economic recovery.

Susan King has been made a director in the financial services risk assurance business, and Lesley Potts becomes a consulting director with a focus on technology. Finally, Dave Rowell has been named a director in the firm’s expanding cyber security practice.
“This year’s director promotions illustrate the strength and depth of talent we have at PwC in Scotland, with each of these new directors having proved themselves to be exceptional at delivering the support our clients need at such a challenging time for businesses,” said Claire Reid, regional leader for PwC Scotland.
“I’m particularly pleased to see so many women becoming directors at the firm. Through backing initiatives like Tech She Can, PwC is active in promoting greater gender diversity and highlighting the wider benefits this can bring.”
The firm employs more than 1,000 people across Scotland.
