AIRLINE Ryanair has announced its addition of more than 20,000 extra seats on flights between Scotland and Portugal, after today’s announcement that country will be a “green list” destination for travellers north of the Border.

The budget airline said it had added the seats from May 24 onwards.

Ryanair will be operating flights from Edinburgh Airport to Faro, Lisbon and Porto. It will also be operating services from Aberdeen and Glasgow Prestwick airports to Faro.

Ryanair marketing director Dara Brady, said: “We are very pleased to announce these 20,000 extra seats to Portugal on the back of Scotland’s green list. With quarantine-free travel…permitted to the likes of the Algarve, Lisbon and Porto, these additional flights have been added to our Scotland schedule in order to meet the demand from our customers.”
