Glasgow-based home architecture firm HOKO is planning to open 30 further studios, including its first overseas presence in Dublin, as it seeks to reach £50 million in revenues by 2025.

The move comes after a recent UK regional expansion led to a near-elevenfold increase in client numbers, with turnover on track to reach £1.4m. The next phase of growth will be financed through a £500,000 crowdfunding campaign due to launch on September 30.

Founded in 2019 by Danny Campbell, HOKO employs 30 people across 10 small studios in Scotland and England. Supported by the company’s platform for handling back-end tasks, they provide a one-stop shop for home renovations.

“Our regional expansion, allied to the new revenue stream opened through HOKO Shop and HOKO Build have taken the business to the next level, and rapid national and international expansion is the next step towards HOKO becoming the global force we know it can be,” Mr Campbell said.

The number of projects carried out rose by 970 per cent this calendar year to nearly 400 as lockdown restrictions spurred interest in home improvements and extensions. HOKO estimates that UK homeowners spend more than £55 billion annually on renovations.

The company said the new Dublin studio is due to open later this year.
