Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 97 store heifers in St Boswells on Thursday to a top of 300p per kg and an average of 213.9p (-4.1p on the fortnight), while 137 store bullocks peaked at 378.6p and levelled at 238.2p (+1.2p).
C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 2706 prime hoggs in Longtown on Thursday to a top of £161 per head and 282p per kg to average 210.9p (-30.1p on the week), while 190 prime lambs peaked at £165 and 344p to level at 259.2p (-8.3p).
A smaller entry of 2121 cast sheep saw heavy ewes sell to £162 for Texels and average £90.15 (-£3.23), while light/export-type ewes peaked at £85 for Blackfaces and levelled at £49.37 (-£6.80). Rams sold to £139 for Charollais and averaged £85.59.
