FINTECH Scotland has appointed David Ferguson, founder and chief executive of Edinburgh-based investment wrap platform pioneer Nucleus, as the first chair of its board.
FinTech Scotland was set up by the Scottish Government, the financial services sector and the University of Edinburgh to help the country capitalise on financial technology (fintech) opportunities. Its ambition is to make Scotland a top-five global financial technology (fintech) centre by 2020.
Mr Ferguson said: “Fintech is a fantastic opportunity for Scotland, and I am excited to build on the great strides we have recently made to position ourselves as a global leader.”
