The body of an angler who drowned in a boating accident on Loch Lomond was recovered from the loch yesterday.

Andrew Wood, 45, from Dumbarton, had been missing since his boat sank near to Inchmurrin Island on Saturday October 27 - the last day of the fishing season.

The tragedy also claimed the life of 36-year-old David Miller, from Alexandria, whose body was discovered a few hours after the accident.

Three other fishing companions were rescued. They had been in the water for two hours, but were all wearing flotation suits and were treated in hospital.

A report on the circumstances has been forwarded to the procurator-fiscal.

Mr Wood is thought to have been the fourth drowning victim claimed this year by the loch.
