With 40 years of success behind the brand, Allanwater Homes is on the money for stress free, flexible service at its popular Alva development
Sonia Grant had earmarked her new home at Allanwater Homes Silver Glen development in Alva from a very early stage, when she first saw it on the site plans.
On reserving the property – a three bedroom detached Cheviot villa - when the plot was released for sale last year, she was delighted to find out that Allanwater Homes, who are building a range of three, four and five bedroom homes at Silver Glen, are more than happy to be flexible with their customers – and that she could have the garage space constructed as an office/utility room, rather than having to complete the conversion herself at a later date.
An Alva resident for 35 years, Sonia was keen to re-size from her five bedroom house, and move to a more manageable, high spec property.
“I was keen to stay in Alva, as I love it here, so finding out that a new estate was to be built was an absolute godsend,” said Sonia, who moved into her new home before Christmas 2019.
“There hadn’t been a great deal of new housing in the village over the past few years. I knew that a three bedroom house would suit me fine, as it would give my two daughters a bedroom each for now, but when they move out in the future, I wouldn’t be rattling around too much,” she said.
“Asking about the garage conversion, and finding out that Allanwater Homes could do that for me as part of the build was an extra bonus. It’s a real selling point for the company that I think many buyers will be attracted to, as it definitely saves you time and money, and you are personalising your house at a very early stage,” added Sonia.
Sonia added that she was impressed by the way that all the various departments at Allanwater Homes worked together to ensure her move was stress free.
“There was real communication between everyone, from Lynn in the Sales Office, to the Site Manager and his team, to Aftercare and Head Office. I really couldn’t be more pleased, and would happily recommend Allanwater Homes to anyone considering moving here. I feel that the Silver Glen development is a real asset to the village.”
The properties at Silver Glen come complete with Allanwater Homes “as standard” specification, including Rocha Sanitaryware, fully fitted kitchens with Zanussi Stainless Steel Appliances & Induction Hobs, thermostatic showers, and monoblocked driveways. Clients can upgrade, if they wish, to a stunning Michel Roux Jr kitchen from Moore’s Kitchens. Allanwater Homes is the first housebuilder in Scotland to offer this exclusive range.
Launched in 2007 as the private housing division of parent company, Allanwater Developments, which this year celebrates 40 successful years of operation in the Scottish market, Allanwater Homes is now a distinct stand alone brand.
Silver Glen, Alva, is one of seven current developments across the Central Belt, which include Oaktree Gardens, Alloa, Hayford Mills, Cambusbarron near Stirling, Rumblingwell, Dunfermline, The Views at Saline in Fife, and Heartlands in West Lothian.
A new development has just launched in Stirling, to be marketed as Allanwater Stirling. It offers one and two bedroom apartments, together with three and four bedroom family villas.
New developments are coming soon to Haddington and Chryston near Glasgow, as Allanwater Homes expands into new locations. Allanwater will name these new developments in the same new simplified way as Allanwater Stirling, calling them Allanwater Haddington, and so on.
Properties available to reserve now at Silver Glen, Alva, currently include four bedroom homes such as the Cuillin, at £251,995, the Cairngorm, at £275,995, complete with family breakfast room, and the five bedroom Galloway, at £310,995.
At Cambusbarron, prospective buyers can take advantage of a superb £7k allowance to personalise one of the development’s fantastic new three bedroom townhouses, priced from £274,995.
Allanwater Homes also come complete with central heating, double glazing, and have a full 10 year Premier Guarantee Structural warranty. Well insulated homes, offering buyers reduced running costs, they are built with eco friendly materials, and are designed for the way families live today.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
