Cindy Crawford ruled the catwalk in the 1990s – but it sounds like she has announced she is putting her modelling days behind her.

The supermodel will turn 50 on February 20 and it seems like she will use the landmark birthday to retire.

She told United Airlines’ Rhapsody magazine: “I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model any more. And that’s okay. I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers.

“What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.”

Cindy is marking her 50th birthday with Becoming Cindy Crawford, a book of photographs documenting her life and long career, starting in De Kalb, Illinois, as a schoolgirl who never thought about modelling until she was spotted by a local photographer.

Cindy is now a mother to two children with her husband Rande Gerber – Kaia Jordan Gerber and Presley Walker Gerber – who have definitely inherited their mother’s looks and are already models on the rise.
