When Cara Delevingne took a step back from modelling, many assumed she had quit for good.

But the 23-year-old wants to put people straight: she never “quit” modelling and has no hard feelings towards the fashion industry.

The model and actress – who starred in Paper Towns – said she took time out of the limelight to tackle her depression. After unveiling new modelling images, she shared on Twitter:

The model has now returned to the fashion industry with the release of her Yves Saint Laurent campaign earlier this week – a glamorous black-and-white ad shot in New York City.

Revealing the images, she wrote simply:

Cara has previously opened up about her struggles with mental illness, explaining at the 2015 Women in the World Summit in October: “I was completely suicidal, I didn’t want to live any more. I thought that I was completely alone.

“I also realised how lucky I was, and what a wonderful family and wonderful friends I had, but that didn’t matter. I wanted the world to swallow me up, and nothing seemed better to me than death.”
