What is it?

A mini Bluetooth Spotify music player.

There is no end to the number of portable music players on the market aimed at athletic types who want a convenient and stutter-free experience. What is not so readily available is the ability to listen to Spotify content without an internet connection.

Mighty has developed a player to do just that and free you from the shackles of a smartphone.

Good Points?

The dinky device is similar in stature and look to an iPod Shuffle with a square face and large clip on the rear to cling to sweaty workout gear.

It measures 3.8cm x 3.8cm x 1.78cm (1.5in x 1.5in x 0.7in) and weighs in at 20 grams (0.7 ounces) so this device won't be the anchor on which to blame for poor performances.

Spotify content is transferred to the Vibe via the Mighty app on a smartphone which communicates when connected to the same Wi-Fi network. The set-up process is quick and relatively painless if you follow the on-screen prompts. It can then be operated completely separately from your phone.

You can listen either with wireless Bluetooth speakers or using a traditional wired headphone via a 3.5mm jack which also doubles as the device's charging port similar to an iPod shuffle. The 8GB storage is large enough to hold 1,000 tracks and has a run time of five hours battery life.

Bad points?

The only drawback for mass appeal is the required Spotify premium account.
