Teasses Gardens

Teasses Gardens have been developed since the year 2000 on the historic Teasses Estate by the present owners. The sixty-acre gardens share a fascinating story of restoration with the entire estate and can be branded as Scotland’s own “lost gardens” located in the heart of Fife.
The gardens have been completely restored from the mid-90s and continue to develop year on year. Today, they comprise a balance of decorative woodlands and formal gardens by the Mansion house; Sundial Garden, Rose Garden, and the landmark Ravine which was designed by David Redmore and is a modern twist on the traditional terrace gardens often found in grand homes along the Fife coast.
The formal gardens blend into less formal woodland gardens, all with their own character. A series of 12 small gardens punctuate the woodlands, each named after a member of the Morrison family, who own the Estate. The woodlands are carpeted with bluebells, red campion and a mixture of wild grass species. Earlier in the year, the perfume of primrose and daffodil ‘Jack Snipe’ fill the air.
The restored Victorian walled garden completes a walk of the garden, where fresh produce is grown for the house using traditional and organic principles, including its own Victorian-style hot bed.
At this time of year, visitors can see the garden’s spectacular rhododendron collection, followed by the billowing herbaceous borders that bloom in the summer months. The walled garden also provides fresh cut flowers and is filled with hardy geraniums, peonies and late double tulips.
