As the trend for flavoured gins continues to pick up pace, our colour crush with pink posies comes into bloom and the wine scene hots up, there couldn't be a better time to treat mums to a fancy tipple.

1. Botanical Rhubarb & Ginger Gin (£14 from £16.50, 70cl, March 19-April 8, SPAR stores)

Think pink stalks of sweet and tangy rhubarb, melded with the warming spice of ginger and you'll be hard-pushed to find a more delicious combination. And with 10 botanicals comfortably in the mix, this pink gin makes for a beautifully refreshing, springtime G&T. A stunning white, Yalumba produce some of the best examples of viognier - and this is a straw-blonde gem, with its heady aromas of fresh apricots, light ginger and fresh white flowers that permeate the bouquet. Rich and luscious, flavours of apricots and a touch of spice are beautifully balanced by fresh acidity.
