Barratt

Barratt West Scotland has announced a #50m development programme for 2001. More than 550 homes will be created at developments in Johnstone, Turnberry, East Kilbride, Hamilton (three sites), Cambuslang (two) plus a major development adjacent to Glasgow city centre.

This development will provide apartments suitable for first-time

buyers through to penthouse-dwellers. Meanwhile, the development at Beith Road in Johnstone, with around 30 homes, will comprise of one, two and three-bedroom homes. In Hamilton, three new developments will have terraced, detached and luxury apartments.

In Cambuslang, one of the sites will feature houses ranging from two to six bedrooms in size, while in East Kilbride the company has plans for a development of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes. A development of 30 apartments is planned for Turnberry in Ayrshire.

A development has been released at the Pines in Hamilton, with 42 homes sold. Located in a well-established residential area, the development will consist of 82 terraced and semi-detached homes.

At Chestnut Grove in Carfin, there will be 88 two and three-bedroom

terraced and semi-detached homes.

Barratt West has also launched the final phase of the #3.5m Weavers Mill development in Paisley. The first apartment blocks are now on sale and include two-bedroom penthouses.

The Regency Mews development in Church St, Baillieston, will feature a mixture of 31 one and two-bedroom apartments with private parking. The sales office is open seven days a week from 11am to 5.30pm.

On the south side of Glasgow, Barratt has started building Victoria Mansions, close to Cathcart Road. This will feature 124 two-bedroom flats with prices starting at #85,000

In Kilmarnock, Barratt is offering carpets, landscaped gardens, cash back and part-exchange at Rosemill, where its three-bedroom Derwent semi-detached villa is available from #80,250; the four-bedroom detached Ripon priced at #94,500. Beazer

Bett has opened sales offices at three developments: Old Station Court in Bothwell, Academy Park in Glasgow and Cove in Aberdeen.

The 49 apartments and 11 villas at Old Station Court are on the former grounds of Old Bothwell Station, with houses including the new Perth design, which has three public rooms and four bedrooms. There is also the Braemar home, which has five bedrooms and three public rooms.

In Glasgow's west end, Bett is building in excess of 230 properties ranging from two-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom villas. Adjacent to The Laurels in Jordanhill, which has sold out, buyers will be able to choose from a similar range of homes.

The Burrell Company

In Lanark, Burrell is restoring Smyllum House on the southern edge of the town. The retirement flats specialist has begun work on a development of 53 apartments in St Margaret Street, Dunfermline.

In Inverness, the company has submitted planning permission for 59 retirement flats on the site of a former youth hostel in Mitchells Lane.
