JAMES Crapnell, the former Scottish football internationalist, has

died, aged 88. Mr Crapnell, who won nine Scottish caps between 1929 and

1933 as a full back, also had five League caps.

He was a member of the Motherwell cup final team of 1933, and also had

played for both Cambuslang Rangers and Airdrie. He was manager of Alloa

briefly before becoming manager of St Johnstone from 1947 until 1953.
