WOLVES footballer James Kelly, 21, and two other men were last night

charged with the murder of a man who died after a brawl outside a

Liverpool hotel. Kelly, a midfielder with the English first division

team, was charged with the murder of Mr Peter Dunphy, 26, early on

Sunday.

Also charged with murder were Mr Kelly's brother John, 22, and a

friend, Mr Kevin Atkinson, 21. All three will appear before the city's

magistrates today, a police spokesman said. Mr Dunphy, a welder from

Toxteth, Liverpool, died in the Royal Liverpool Hospital after the

incident outside the Bradford Hotel in the city centre. He suffered head

injuries. James Kelly, who started his football career with Wrexham

before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers, lives in Everton, Liverpool,

as does his brother.
