AN SNP councillor has resigned after announcing that he has joined

nationalist colleagues to launch a trading company in Estonia. Mr David

Coutts represented Hilltown on Dundee District Council.

As the SNP group leader for eight years, Mr Coutts, 36, was a thorn in

the flesh of the Labour administration. He stood for Parliament in

Dundee East last year and was a member of the SNP executive from 1987 to

1992. He said yesterday from the Estonian capital of Tallinn, where he

is now permanently based: ''Business opportunities in Estonia have

proved too good to be ignored.''
