PRESSURE from viewers has resulted in the Scottish Television soap

opera, Take the High Road, being restored to almost every TV screen in

the UK.

A spokesman last night confirmed that the station has completed deals

with all but one of the independent TV companies. Talks with

Yorkshire/Tyne Tees are continuing.

He said: ''Network screenings of the series ended last month, since

when viewers have been asking their local stations to bring it back.''

One of the two weekly episodes has been cut since the soap opera lost

its network status earlier this year.
