Scottish pupils have won the World Schools Debating Championships, beating teams from around the world.

The five-strong team from schools in Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen beat the Singapore team in the final in Seoul, South Korea, to be crowned the best in the world. The team debated on the abolition of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and brought the title back to Scotland for the third time in the 16 years of the competition.

The winning debaters were Stuart Cullen and Calum Jones, from George Heriot's School in Edinburgh, Neil Dewar, from the High School of Dundee, Netan Dogra, from Grove Academy in Dundee and Joanna Farmer from Robert Gordon's College in Aberdeen.
