WORLD-famous graffiti artist Banksy is at the centre of a mystery over whether he has left his mark at a Glasgow curry house for the second time.

The new design appeared on a wall at the Nakodar Grill in the city’s east end and has left restaurant owners baffled. It appears to be part of a series by Banksy and depicts the Mona Lisa with a grenade launcher.

Restaurant manager Tony Ginda says they have yet to have the design verified, but would be delighted if it turned out to be another Banksy.

Mr Ginda said: “It is a bit of a mystery to us. It must have been put up a few days ago. I would have been here until 3am and someone is back in at 8am, so there could only have been a few hours when it could have been done.

“The first Banksy we discovered was a total shock and if it turns out we have a second then we will be delighted.”

Managers were thrilled last year when they found a rat by the reclusive street artist on their outside wall.

The faded image had been hidden for years by weeds.

Mr Ginda said the latest design may be framed.

He added: “We like to think we are pretty well known for our food and that’s why people come. Now, diners from all over are coming here and asking to see our Banksy as well.”

Pest Control, a body set up to verify Banksy works, was unavailable for comment.
