Spanish police are investigating the death of a Scottish man on the Costa Brava in Spain.

The man, thought to be 26, was found in a street in the resort of Lloret de Mar.

Spanish police were said to be working on the theory he was found after a disturbance during a stag weekend. The incident was reported to have taken place outside an all-night bar.

A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said: "We are providing consular assistance to family and friends at this sad time. The Spanish authorities are investigating."
