A WIND FARM developer has criticised Scotland's planning process after its proposals for a project were rejected.

West Lothian Council voted against the plans for the Fauch Hill development, situated close to Harperrig Reservoir on the edge of the Pentland Hills, proposed by Fauch Hill Sustainable Development Ltd.

The firm, which said the project would have been backed by £200 million of investment, said it was disappointed and claimed the "procedures for handling an application are unclear".

Debbie Chawner, speaking on behalf of Fauch Hill Sustainable Development Ltd, said: "That Scotland has the ambition to delivery renewable energy is not in doubt, but what is clear is that delivery is becoming harder. For those making multimillion investments, the outcome of the process seems difficult to predict."
