RUSSIA has named the alleged CIA station chief in Moscow, following its decision to expel a US diplomat accused of trying to recruit a Russian intelligence officer as a spy.

Ryan Fogle, a purported CIA agent, was arrested last week while wearing a blonde wig and was briefly detained. Russia says it warned the CIA Moscow station chief in 2011 to stop the "provocative" recruitment of spies. An unnamed official of the Russian FSB security services said that if recruitment attempts continued, the FSB "would take 'mirror' actions in relation to CIA officers".
