SOME 55 children are taking up smoking every day in Scotland, according to new figures from Cancer Research UK.
The charity said 19,900 children aged 11 to 15 were still taking up the habit every year north of the Border. Every year, 4800 people in Scotland are diagnosed with lung cancer.
