The body of a man has been found on a beach.
Police and the coastguard recovered the body from shallow water after a member of the public made the discovery at North Berwick beach, East Lothian, at around 8.15am today.
Officers said they are investigating the full circumstances surrounding the death of the man.
A police spokesman said: "Police in East Lothian responded to North Berwick beach where they recovered the body of a man from the water.
"He was pronounced dead at the scene and inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding his death."
