Fire and rescue services were tackling a fire at a large scrapyard in Leith, Edinburgh.

The fire halted business in the dockland area as a number of fire crews and at least three ambulances attended the scene at Dalton Metal and Recycling on Salamander Street.

One initial report suggested two people were injured but this has not yet been confirmed.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said appliances were still at the scene following the alert shortly after mid-day.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed crews were in attendance but could give no further information as the situation was ongoing.

No-one was available for comment at Dalton's.
