TWO paramedics were allegedly attacked by a patient they were rushing to hospital.
The emergency services workers - aged 43 and 48 - were allegedly set upon by the man in the back of an ambulance during the mercy dash last night.
Minutes earlier, the crew had picked up the patient from Glasgow Central Station after receiving a call reporting that the man was "intoxicated" and had strayed onto the railway line.
He was being taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment when the alleged incident took place.
It happened at around 9.30pm in Kyle Street and the ambulance driver was forced to stop the vehicle and call police.
Officers confirmed a 39-year-old man had been arrested.
He received treatment at the city hospital before being taken to a nearby police station.
A police spokesman said: "A 39-year-old male was arrested in connection with an alleged disturbance in Kyle Street, Glasgow, at around 9.30pm on February 16."
He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
