CELTIC were today hit with another fine for supporter misconduct after fans let off flares at an away match against Fenerbahce.

European football’s governing body have issued the Hoops with a fine for €13,000 - around £9500 - following the 1-1 draw in December.

The Scottish champions were found guilty of two rule breaches, one for the setting off of fireworks by supporters and another for the team picking up five yellow cards in Turkey.

Glasgow Times:

Three fans have been banned indefinitely by club bosses amid fears any further misdemeanours involving flares could result in UEFA forcing them to play a European match behind closed doors.

It is the seventh time in three years the club have found themselves in trouble for incidents involving their fans in European competitions.

Glasgow Times:

Supporters were also criticised after using flares in the Scottish Cup win over Stranraer.

The Celtic Supporters' Association, the Affiliation of Registered Celtic Supporters' Clubs and the Association of Irish Celtic Supporters' Clubs, groups the club says represent tens of thousands of fans, have demanded the actions of a few had to stop.

Glasgow Times:

Joe O' Rourke, General Secretary of the Celtic Supporters' Association, said: "The dangers to our own supporters alone make it unacceptable."

In February 2015, Celtic were fined 10,000 euros following crowd disturbances at their Europa League match with Dinamo Zagreb the previous year.

The next month, the Hoops were fined £10,000 over two charges of misconduct at their Europa League tie with Inter Milan.

Celtic were also given a fine of £8000 for the improper conduct of the team as well as a £5000 punishment over two flares set off at the San Siro on February 26 last year.
