Cops arrested an armed woman who allegedly held up a newsagents in East Renfrewshire.
The 31-year-old is alleged to have been brandishing a knife when she targeted the store in Barrhead on Tuesday night.
She burst into the shop in Cross Arthurlie Street at around 7.15pm and allegedly demanded cash and goods.
The Evening Times understands the suspect was apprehended in the shop as she tried to flee.
The alarm was raised a short time later and police arrested the 31-year-old.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers responded to reports of an alleged robbery in Cross Arthurlie Street, Barrhead, at around 7.15pm on Tuesday March 1.
"A 31-year-old woman was arrested and is currently detained in police custody."
She is expected to appear at court later today.
