THE heartbroken mum of Paige Doherty has spoken of her anguish at planning her daughter's funeral - when she should be planning her sweet sixteen.
Pamela Munro posted on her Facebook page yesterday to say the family were planning the funeral for Paige, who would have turned 16 on Sunday.
She wrote: "Should be planning a 16th birthday for Paige on Sunday. Instead we're sitting here planning a funeral. Life is cruel."
Hundreds of mourners are expected to turn out in memory of Paige Doherty next week.
It was reported yesterday that the 15-year-old will be laid to rest at St Margaret's RC Church in Clydebank on Wednesday.
She will be carried to her funeral by a white horse and carriage.
It is understood the funeral was delayed by a second post mortem.
Hundreds of family and friends are expected to cram in the church in Clydebank, close to her home.
Many more will gather outside the church during the service, which will be led by Canon Gerard Tartaglia and Deacon Frank Flynn, who has known Paige’s family for many years.
After the funeral service at 9.30am Paige will be taken to North Dalnottar Cemetery by carriage, around four miles away, where she will be laid to rest.
After Paige’s death donated thousands of pounds was donated by wellwishers and family friends to a funeral fund.
Paige’s parents, Pamela and Andy Munro, then asked people going to her funeral to help another family, instead of spending money on flowers for her daughter.
After hearing about local boy Oscar Edgar, who needs a sensory machine, Pamela posted a message on her Facebook page asking mourners to help him.
She wrote: "We have decided that the donations given at our little angel's funeral will be gave to Oscar's parents to help get this little boy the equipment he needs to have the best lease of life available to him.
"Everyone has done so much for us in helping raise money to give our daughter an amazing send off that we in turn would like to give something back to the community and couldn't think of a more deserving little boy."
Paige was found in a wooded area just off Great Western Road in Clydebank two days after she went missing on March 19.
The teenager was last seen near a deli after setting off for her part-time hairdressing job in Kirkintilloch.
