The Royal Humane Society chairman confirmed that searches of the River Clyde and its banks have been carried out in the last 24 hours after the 30-year-old disappeared on Sunday morning.

The mum-of-four vanished after attending a Scotland Deaf Booze Crew event in Campus nightclub on Sauchiehall Street.

The Herald:

Police have now traced her last steps using CCTV to the Broomielaw where she was last seen at 3.16am.

He said: "Having read the story in the Evening Times, we decided to carry out a search as we do with most missing people."

The search, however, only covered a five mile area from the River Clyde's tidal wheel in the Saltmarket to the site of the Old Belvidere Hospital in Glasgow's London Road.

A member of George's team covered the bank on his cycle and a river search was carried out.

George confirmed he has not been asked officially to carry out a search by Police Scotland yet.
