Four children and an adult were rescued from a 100ft gorge yesterday after heavy rain had left them stranded,

The alarm was raised after the group got stuck exploring The Devil’s Pulpit - Finnich Glen - around four miles south of Drymen.

Police Scotland alerted Lomond Mountain Rescue Team who co-ordinated their safe evacuation.

In a statement, LMRT said: “The team quickly lowered personnel to the group and got them into orange Blizzard jackets for warmth and made sure they were secure.

"At the same time rope teams were setting up systems to raise everyone out of the sheer sided Pulpit.

“The group were hoisted out of the gorge and checked over by the team paramedic. Once warmed up, and in dry clothes, they made their way home.”
