GLASGOW'S bid to land Channel 4's new national HQ says the city has an "audacious belief in its own creativity."
The two-part bid document, which aims to entice Channel 4's executives to build its major new studio and commissioning complex in the city, is to be lodged at the broadcasters today.
The document contents are at present "commercially confidential."
However, in the first section Stuart Cosgrove, the writer and broadcaster who is the bid's chair, explains how Glasgow's position as a "unique creative city" could be appealing to the broadcaster.

His words cover the strength of the city's independent production and digital sectors, the links between higher and further education and the creative industries, and the city’s social diversity.
Mr Cosgrove finishes by saying: "Like Channel 4, Glasgow is a city that likes to challenge authority and refuses to take itself too seriously.
"And so a 19th Century military hero [Wellington] with a traffic cone on his head has come to personify the city.
"This is the Glasgow we want to present – a city alive with attitude, teeming with young people and ignited with an audacious belief in its own creativity."

The second part of the bid is opened by Cllr Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council, who states that the city meets the channel's key criteria for a HQ, and notes five possible locations in the city.
Each of the locations, if chosen, would have a "transformative effect" on the city.
Mr Cosgrove said: " I think Channel 4’s Board will be surprised by the quality and audacity of this bid.
"Like Channel 4 Glasgow is independent, innovative and irreverent and those qualities shine through every page of this document."
The bid has been backed by both the city's of Edinburgh and Dundee, as well as two governments.
This week it received backing from the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, as well as David Mundell, the Scottish Secretary.

Channel 4 are also looking to set up two commissioning hubs outside London, as well as the new National HQ.
The National HQ plan includes a studio as well as offices for around 300 staff.
