PLANS for a second week-long celebration of the very best in Helensburgh’s food and drink have been unveiled – and this year the organisers are modelling the event on one of the biggest food and drink festivals in the world.

Helensburgh Food Week will run this year from Saturday, November 3 until Sunday, November 11 – and will be modelled on the hugely successful New York Food Week, which offers the public in the Big Apple a lunch, dinner or snack at a set price.

Organisers from Helensburgh Community Council will be visiting local restaurants, cafes and food suppliers over the next 10 days to sign up businesses to the event, with each business allowed to decide how they will take part.

The 2018 festival will end on Sunday, November 11 with a family ‘tea and wad’ event in Colquhoun Square following the town’s Armistice Day memorial.

November 11 will also see the final of the Great Craigard Bake-Off, organised by Melanie Andrews of Craigard Restaurant and Tearoom in Sinclair Street.
