HELENSBURGH'S lifeboat crew went to the aid of a yacht which ran aground off Greenock on Sunday afternoon.
The RNLI crew launched at 1.39pm in response to a report of a yacht in difficulty between the James Watt Dock and Gourock.
On arriving at the scene the lifeboat team discovered that the yacht's crew had freed the craft from trouble.
The lifeboat escorted the yacht to the James Watt Dock before returning to its Rhu Marina base, where it was ready for service again at 2.20pm.
